The Stormi Giovanni Club, Week 2
1. permission slip (n.)- a form that a school sends home with a student to a parent in which the parent allows the student to go on a field trip.
2. playoff game (n.)- one of a series of games played after the regular season to decide which teams will advance to play for the championship
3. vegetarian (adj.)- not eating or including meat
4. meatloaf (n.)- meat cut into extremely small pieces, mixed with other things, cooked in a container, and then cut into slices to be eaten
5. slope (v.)- to be at an angle to the horizontal
6. make a friend (v.)- to form a friendship with someone
7. promise (n.)- to tell someone that you will certainly do something
8. allowance (n.)- an amount of money that parents regularly give to their child to spend as they choose
9. locker (n.)- a cupboard, often tall and made of metal, in which you can keep your possessions, and leave them for a period of time
10. cafeteria (n.)- a restaurant (often in a factory, a college, or an office building) where people collect food and drink from a serving area and take it to a table themselves after paying for it
11. dump out (v.)- to empty the contents of some container by pouring them quickly and roughly out
12. whatever (adv.)- something that is said to show that you do not respect or care about what someone is saying, especially someone who is asking you to agree with them or agree to do something
13. poet (n.)- a person who writes poetry
14. have a hard time (v.)- to have difficulty; to struggle
15. interesting (adj.)- Someone or something that is interesting keeps your attention because he, she, or it is unusual, exciting, or has a lot of ideas
16. fountain pen (n.)- a pen whose nib (= the point at the end that you write with) is supplied with ink from a container inside it
17. passion (n.)- extreme interest in doing something
18. audacious (adj.)- showing an unusual willingness to take risks
19. rude (adj.)- not polite; offensive or embarrassing
20. hospitable (adj.)- friendly and welcoming to guests and visitors
21. gregarious (adj.)- liking to be with other people
22. packed (adj.)- full
23. scintillating (adj.)- liking to be with other people
24. dictionary (n.)- a book that contains a list of words in alphabetical order with their meanings explained or written in another language
25. sparkle (v.)- to shine brightly with a lot of small points of light
26. gleam (v.)- to produce or reflect a small, bright light
27. draw into (v.)- to make someone become involved in something. 
28. conversation (n.)- a talk between two or more people, usually an informal one
29. try out for (v.)- to compete for a position in a sports team or a part in a play
30. imitation (n.)- an occasion when someone or something copies the speech or behavior of another person or thing
